Hajia Muslimah Adekoya who is a cancer survivor made this known yesterday Sunday 22nd January, 2023 during the Ummahaat Day hosted by MSSNLagos in Yabatech.
She affirmed that “Cancer is not a death sentence” and explained her journey on how she was diagnosed of cancer which was passed down hereditarily from her maternal side and how she overcame it through treatment, support from family and trust in God.
During her lecture, she said, it all started with pain in her armpit, chest and shoulder and then she went to the hospital where she was tested and diagnosed of breast cancer.
On hearing the news, she said she was devastated a little but she resolved and put all her trust in God’s, after which she began the treatments and was cured of the life threatening cancer.
Hajia Muslimah concluded by advising all women saying that “girls, ladies and women out there should go for mammogram at least once in a year and when tested, don’t run away, early confirmation is better and if you are diagnosed move closer to your doctor and your God”.
