The Kwara Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board on Wednesday commenced vaccination of intending pilgrims in preparation for their airlift to the Saudi Arabia.

Speaking to the journalists shortly after the inoculation exercise kicked off at the National Hajj Camp in Ilorin, the Executive Secretary of the board, Mr Abdulsalam Abdukadri, said that 300 pilgrims have already been cleared.

He added that the procedure laid down by the board is that for any pilgrim to be vaccinated, he/she must have received a clearance from the official assigned by the board to confirm the completion of their Hajj fares.

He said further that the exercise commenced in an orderly and peaceful manner as the pilgrims were attended to one after the other.

He advised the intending pilgrims to remain lawful, assuring that every one of them will be attended to.

The executive secretary said that 3,740 pilgrims are performing the exercise from Kwara even as the airlift of the pilgrims to the holy land is to commence on May 26.
