Describes him as an enviable ambassador of the Yoruba’s Omoluabi ethos and untiring progressive idealist.

The Member, Lagos State House of Assembly, representing Alimosho Constituency II, Hon Kehinde Olaide Joseph, has congratulated the outgoing Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola on the occasion of his 66th birthday anniversary.

Kehinde Joseph in a statement by his Media Office on Thursday, described the outgoing Minister as an enviable ambassador of the Yoruba’s Omoluabi ethos and untiring progressive idealist.

The grassroot friendly lawmaker in the message attributed Oranmiyan, as he’s fondly called, to be a true democrat whose political ingenuity has yielded landmark records in national development.

“Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola who is the former Commissioner for Works and Infrastructures, in Lagos State and past Governor of Osun has over the years proven to be a true leader whose speeches, decisions and actions have contributed to the country’s national development.

“As a Minister of the Federal Republic, the records of his excellence are there for Nigerians to see how Ogbeni has brought character of forthrightness, diligence and competence to public service leadership.

“Admirably for all his gifts, sacrifices, and his countless achievements, Oranmiyan remained deeply spiritual, a thinker, humble, unassuming and self-effacing as he’s earnestly loved by Nigerians.

“Since his assumption of office in August 2019, there has been the approval for the new visa policy reclassifying the visa categories from six (6) to seventy-nine (79). He also ensured that Nigeria commenced visa on arrival to holders of passports of African Countries and visitors who processed their visa on arrival in advance online without delays.

“It’s on record that Aregbesola is the only minister in recent times that has procured over 500 operational vehicles for the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS) – ditto for the creation of Citizens Integrity Unit at the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)”, he stated.

The State Lawmaker added that under his administration, three thousand (3,000) capacity custodial centre in three (3) geopolitical zones of the country were constructed and at the same time, the ministry promoted over eighteen thousand (18,000) personnel out of the thirty-three thousand (33,000) that sat for promotional examinations under review.

He reiterated that the former Governor is a great respecter and promoter of the prestigious Yoruba culture, wished the celebrant a happy birthday celebration and a healthy long life filled with prosperity because Nigeria as a country has many things to celebrate in the spartan, austere, visionary and pragmatic idealist called Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola.
