LASEMA’s swift response in an ongoing operation at Ijegun has prevented yet another fire disaster by a tanker fully loaded 33, 000litres of Petroleum Motor Spirit, PMS at a petrol filling station in Ijegun.
According to a statement issued by the DG/CEO LASEMA, Dr. Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, “Situation report on Overturned Tanker at Ijegun Imore.
“On arrival at the above incident,it was discovered that a 33,000 lt. tanker fully loaded with PMS fell on its side within the NIPCO filling station.
“Preliminary information gathering revealed that the tanker while trying to enter into the fueling station, lost its balance thus spilling its contents into the drainage.
“The Agency’s Firefighters, the Lagos State Fire service, NIPCO fire department are on ground blanketing the spilled contents along the drainage system.
“Other agencies on ground include the Navy Fire department, the Nigeria police and the LNSC.
