The Lagos State Records and Archives Bureau (LASRAB) has organised a two-day specialised training themed, “Designing the Records and Archives for Efficient and Effective Service Delivery” for Archivists and Registry Officers across Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in Lagos State.

According to a statement signed by the Director-General, Mrs. Bilikiss Adebiyi-Abiola, participants at the training, which was the third in the series, were drawn from public infrastructure-based MDAs for exposure to global best practices in information management and innovative ways of keeping public records as well as other vital documents belonging to the State Government.

She stated that efficient public record-keeping is an integral tool in government policy formulation, therefore such a crucial responsibility should be treated with expertise and professionalism because it translates directly to effective economic planning and social development for the benefit of all stakeholders.

Adebiyi-Abiola also stated that the two-day training is an affirmation of the Government’s commitment to inculcating in its staff an attitude of excellence, through capacity building, as well as conforming with the administration’s T.H.E.M.E.S Agenda on Tourism and Making Lagos a 21st Century Economy.

In her words: “The training programme scheduled for Wednesday, 16th and Thursday, 17th June, 2021, will hold online via the Zoom platform in strict compliance with the COVID-19 protocols, just like earlier editions”.

“A team of erudite professionals with hands-on experience in the field of records and information management will be facilitating diverse topics that cover the training theme for robust knowledge sharing, in order to promote efficient service delivery for the benefit of all Lagosians”, she added.

Recall that the first edition of the training took place in March 2020 with participants from selected Ministries, Departments and Agencies in Lagos State to acquire knowledge for enhanced service delivery to residents.
