LIRS Twitter Account Hacked
The Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) has announced that their official Twitter account has been hacked.
The news was shared in a public notice released on the LIRS Instagram page.
According to the statement, the agency is “working actively to retrieve” the hacked Twitter page and it will be back soon.
The statement further assures members of the public that they can reach out to the agency through other social media platforms, phone numbers, and website.
The LIRS is the state government agency responsible for the assessment, collection, and accounting of taxes in Lagos State. It is unclear at this time who is responsible for the hack or what the motivation behind it might be.
The statement was signed by Ayodele Subair, the Executive Chairman of the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service.
