The choice of WhatsApp status screenshots to announce the commencement of the 2021 UTME registration by the Joint Admission Matriculation Board has earned the board some Twitter bashing.
On Thursday, via its verified Twitter handle, JAMB shared two screenshots, which are obviously from Whatsapp Status to announce when registration of this year’s examination will start and that the National Identification Number is a requirement.
Lots of Twitter users have been bashing the examination body over its usage of these screenshots.
Danny Walter wanted to know, “How much is a graphic design these days?”
Jide Jnr tweeted, “Is this the best Jamb could do? This is how you pass official information from an official page? Has the country gotten this bad?”
Odun Ola said, “How much would getting a graphic designer cost? How much time would it take to type this out in a thread?? But you really have to screenshot someone’s Whatsapp status!!!”
Meanwhile, another Twitter user, Ladi Ogunseye has no qualms about the screenshots, tweeting, “I don’t know why people are having issues with this mode of communicating. The message has been passed via text. It’s not compulsory to drive it via visual.”
