Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has appointed an advertising expert, Fatiu Akiolu, as the new General Manager of the Lagos State Signage & Advertisement Agency.
In a statement issued by the Head Of Service, Hakeem Muri-Okunola, over the weekend, Akiolu’s appointment was reportedly based on his contributions to the advertising industry.
“Akiolu’s appointment takes effect from Monday, September 18 and he is expected to resume office and drive the agency towards contributing its quota to Lagos Gross Domestic Product.
The governor’s decision to appoint Akiolu is part of efforts to restructure LASAA for improved performance and development within the state,” the statement partly read.
Akiolu, who is the son of the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, takes over from Adedamola Docemo, who had overseen the agency since 2019 but was removed three months after the governor’s re-election.
Akiolu was the founder of an outdoor media firm, Regno Media, based in Lagos, and had embarked on many works that should his understanding of the industry.
“His achievements at Regno Media have been recognised in the advertising industry, attributing his success to his entrepreneurship, experience in various advertising sectors, and his skills in sales, marketing, strategic planning, client and project management, and idea implementation. His resource management abilities and ability to foster team spirit have also been commended by experts,” it added
