Sanwo-Olu Reassures Lagosians Of Adequate Security

As Nigeria celebrates its 61st Independence Anniversary, the Lagos State Government has assured residents of adequate security of lives and property as well as creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu stated this at the State’s Independence Day Celebration organised by the Lagos State Ministry of Home Affairs, with the theme: “COVID-19: Pandemic: Averting a National Calamity, Governor Sanwo-Olu’s Proactive Measures”, at Agege Stadium on Friday.
The Governor, who inspected the parade at the event, also said all hands must be on deck to ensure the security of lives across the metropolis, adding that a new mindset perspective was needed to strengthen and achieve a greater Nigeria.
Sanwo-Olu said his administration was committed to youth empowerment programmes and creating an enabling environment for the private sector to thrive as well as tackling security related issues, adding that security agencies had given an assurance that they are on top of the situation in Lagos State.
Speaking on the proactive measures to avert COVID-19 pandemic as a national calamity, Governor Sanwo-Olu explained that Lagos State had been able to stem the tide of the third wave of coronavirus in the State.
He further stated that as Nigeria marks 22 years of uninterrupted democracy, there is no reason for Nigerians to lose hope despite the challenges confronting the Country.
The Governor, therefore, charged Nigerians to continue to believe in the unity and progress of Nigeria, stating that we shall surely overcome and rise above our present challenges.
